Consciousness – there is some evidence of harmful effects. Whether there’s good or convincing evidence, though – that’s another issue. I don’t think there is: the evidence is largely poor.

I say this, because I’ve heard and know of so much evidence supporting that cell phones “do” cause damage. So, “skeptical” really wasn’t a strong enough word for me to use, haha. I just simple don’t believe a study claiming that cell phones are safe.

I believe those studies that do are conspiracies paid for by either people somehow connected to the cell phone industry or some other group of people that benefits in some way. A “lot” of that goes on, as I’m sure you know. It’s sad that politics and money get in the way of honest science.

Great point! Here is a more recent article (Sept of ’09), and it gives a link to the recent EWG report of cell phone radiation (EMF) levels. Any “study” that says cell phones have not been shown to do any health damage I am highly scepticle of. EMF Believer – the article you link is from 2008, while the review Claire cites if from 2009. Mightn’t some of the doctors involved have since changed their position in the light of the evidence?

Not all studies are well done, or even done with honest intentions. There are plenty of very credible doctors who would differ with the article you posted.

Okay, so I’m not all that familiar with EMR, but I think people are getting EMR and EMF (electromagnetic fields) mixed up. Electronics emit EMF. I have personally seen cases where problems were eliminated from moving something as simple as a clock radio a foot from someone’s head. The EMF detectors do work and show you how far to be from offending devices. I, personally, witnessed a lady get over “migraine” headaches “overnight” once she stopped sleeping next to a device that was giving out high levels of EMF. This is not rubbish. It’s something to take seriously if you value your health. Besides, the little EMF detector is only about $30! We use a Dr. Gauss. You can still use your electronics, just keep them about a foot away!

We can’t know what Holford’s state of mind was, nor the extent of his knowledge. However, if you present yourself as an expert on health topics, you should make sure that you do know what you’re writing about.
