Will Patrick Holford Be Calling Upon His Mailing List to Sign the New Andrew Wakefield Petition? If So, We’ve Made Some Annotations

In June 2007 Patrick Holford contacted his mailing list to ask them to sign a petition in support of Andrew Wakefield. In February 2009, there is a new petition to support Wakefield. Holford has yet to redact his products and recommendations that rely upon Wakefield’s research so will he ask his followers to sign this new petition? We provide an annotated version of the We Support Andrew Wakefield petition. Continue reading

Former Visiting Professor Patrick Holford is still failing to reconsider his recommendations for the ‘treatment’ of autism despite the thorough examination of Andrew Wakefield’s research and related work and the conclusion that it is fatally flawed both by error and through deliberate manipulation. Continue reading

Jeni Barnett and the Missing Blog Posts About MMR Segment on LBC Radio

Jeni Barnett and LBC Radio, you might wish there to be an EMP to remove all traces of this sad and sorry incident concerning the ill-conceived MMR segment and the kerfuffle with Dr Ben Goldacre but that isn’t going to happen. Deleting blog posts will not help you mend fences. Continue reading

Patrick Holford and Andrew Wakefield’s Discredited Findings: Part 2

Professor Patrick Holford of Teesside University frequently upbraids professionals and researchers for what he perceives as their lack of up-to-date research. Yet, he reaffirms that he has concerns about the MMR vaccine-he raises scientific concerns that have been comprehensively debunked for some time.

Holford recommends that you should consult a nutritional therapist before vaccinating children and should consider a recovery programme based on supplements and tests for which there is no scientific support. Continue reading

Patrick Holford and Andrew Wakefield

The correspondences between Patrick Holford and Dr Andrew Wakefield are extraordinary. Even leaving aside the fact that Patrick Holford recently emailed a large number of people, asking them to sign a petition in support of Andrew Wakefield. They both regard themselves as prophets who are without honour in their own country.

There is a view that both men “paddle in the same scientific shallows” and are interdependent for the promotion of their view and the respectability of their treatment programmes. There is good reason to think that the self-styled science that underpins the foundation of their treatment programmes is flawed. Continue reading
