Post #350: “If you think I have been overly critical, I would invite you to notice that they win”

This is our 350th post on HolfordWatch. Over the course of these posts, we have found a number of inaccuracies in Holford’s self-presentation and many serious errors in his work. These errors overwhelmingly remain uncorrected or inadequately corrected, and Holford … Continue reading

The Holford Low GL Diet trial: how was it conducted, and what were the results?

A blog comment recently suggested that we’re not giving enough attention to the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine, and as it happens I have recently been reading Holford et al’s article in the journal on low glycemic load diets. So, I … Continue reading

Patrick Holford Now A Partner in Birmingham’s TriHealth Consultants Ltd

Birmingham Mail reports that Patrick Holford has joined Birmingham TriHealth Consultants Ltd as a partner. Patrick Holford: Labels Aren’t Important, Apparently

Former Visiting Professor Patrick Holford recently announced that labels aren’t important. He claimed that he seems to be known as a nutritionist as if this is a surprise to him when he has previously written an impassioned Je m’acquitte to defend his right to be called a nutritionist. We refer Holford to Bucks Fizz for some much needed life-coaching on this matter. Continue reading

Patrick Holford is an ex-Professor: he has resigned his Visiting Professorship at Teesside. UPDATE: Teesside’s Cactus Clinic also ceases to operate

Patrick Holford has resigned his visiting professorship at the University of Teesside. The Cactus Clinic has ceased to operate: this is unfortunate for the parents who benefited from its services. However, the nutritional assessment programme with its emphasis on unproven tests such as hair mineral analysis and IgG blood tests for food intolerance was not pursuing an evidence-based approach and it is unsettling that this was considered appropriate with such a vulnerable clientele.
