Dore: nothing in it?
The ten23 campaign looked at homoeopathic pills: there’s no active ingredient in them, once diluted beyond a certain level. This post is going to look at the Dore treatment for dyslexia, dyspraxia and ADHD: and suggest that there’s no good … Continue reading

ASA: Dore advert is “misleading” and breaches rules on “truthfullness” and “substantiation”
I was delighted to see that the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld a complaint of mine about Dore’s advertising. I complained about an advert referring to “help with Dyslexia, ADHD, Dyspraxia or Asperger’s”. The ASA has reviewed the evidence … Continue reading

Equazen and the ASA – Again
The Advertising Standards Authority has issued another adjudication against Equazen for their advertising for their fish oil supplements. Specifically, it seems that Equazen’s ad had “indirectly offered a treatment for a serious condition and was, therefore, in breach of the CAP Code”. Patrick Holford is an ex-Professor: he has resigned his Visiting Professorship at Teesside. UPDATE: Teesside’s Cactus Clinic also ceases to operate
Patrick Holford has resigned his visiting professorship at the University of Teesside. The Cactus Clinic has ceased to operate: this is unfortunate for the parents who benefited from its services. However, the nutritional assessment programme with its emphasis on unproven tests such as hair mineral analysis and IgG blood tests for food intolerance was not pursuing an evidence-based approach and it is unsettling that this was considered appropriate with such a vulnerable clientele. Continue reading
