1 in 58 Have Autism Redux: I Blame The Observer

Jenny McCarthy has an Op-Ed piece on CNN. She repeats the canard that 1 in 58 children in England and Ireland have a condition on the autism spectrum disorder. The Observer is responsible for this untrue figure. Despite corrections from Professor Simon Baron-Cohen who leads the team that is supposed to have uncovered that figure, the Observer has never fully retracted that story. And so, we have nonsense like this canard that flourishes unchecked. Continue reading
