Patrick Holford on Andrew Wakefield: He Needs to Issue an Update
Several of Patrick Holford’s entrepreneurial products for autism have their theoretical justification in Andrew Wakefield’s work. With the recent explicit findings from the Autism Omnibus, it is clear that Wakefield’s research can not be relied upon (referred to in terms of “fraud” and “manipulation). Brian Deer has published some further information about Andrew Wakefield and his research in the Sunday Times. Patrick Holford and His Recommendations for Vaccines: As Canard-Stuffed As We Feared
Former Visiting Professor Patrick Holford has issued an update of his vaccination advice for parents. It is full of the usual canards and mis-representations of research. He asks parents to consider the case of Hannah Poling but neglects to mention that she has an underlying mitochondrial disorder. He higlights the benefits of vitamin A without mentioning that such work is based on supplementation of children with deficiencies or who are malnourished. Continue reading
